Taliban chief Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was captured in Karachi on Monday
Top Afghan military commander Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has been captured in Pakistan, US and Pakistani officials said.
Baradar who was captured in a raid by Pakistan's Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence in Karachi, has been in Pakistan’s custody for several days.
If his arrest is confirmed then it could prove to be a major setback for Taliban as he might have information on the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden.
Baradar who heads the Taliban’s military council coordinates the Taliban's military operations throughout the south and southwest of Afghanistan.
